How do I transfer podcasts onto my MP3 player?

Each MP3 player will be different but, basically, you need to plug your player into your computer (usually via a USB cable) so that the player appears as an external device on your desktop. To transfer podcasts, you first need to locate them on your computer, then drag them into your MP3 audio player for playback.

Some MP3 players also come with software that allows you to automatically "sync" the podcasts on your computer with those on your MP3 player. This means that each time you plug your MP3 player into your computer, you’ll automatically get the latest episodes of your favorite podcast on your player. How this works depends on your MP3 player and your software.

No, you don't. Anyone with a computer connected to the internet can download and listen to MP3 files. You will need a media player on your computer (many PCs come with Windows Media Player, for example), and you'll also need speakers or headphones.
