Shane DuBow

Producer

Shane DuBow grew up outside Chicago where, as a child, he spent a lot of time in the backyard playing with the family dog and building obstacle courses for ants. Had his parents let him watch more TV, things may have turned out differently. Instead, he went on to spend much of his twenties as a camp counselor and adventure trip guide. And now he produces a podcast with a little green alien-looking guy for a logo. Are you surprised?

As the Museum's Strategic Projects Manager, Shane oversees content development for new exhibits, multimedia initiatives, and select special events. He brings to the job more than 15 years of experience as a magazine journalist and documentary television producer. His writing has appeared in National Geographic, Smithsonian, Harper’s, The New York Times Magazine, GQ, The Los Angeles Times Magazine, Sports Afield, Outside, and on the public radio program This American Life. His television work has appeared on the A&E Network, The National Geographic Channel, Outdoor Life Network, and The Weather Channel.

He lives in Chicago with his wife, Sunny, a public school art teacher, two dogs, and (how is this possible?) five iPods.
